A Luminous Landscape

Imagine an expanse of pure whiteness that stretches beyond the horizon and within this whimsical space imagine only incredible silence and the warm gaze of the Sun wholly complimenting the brisk, cold wisp of wind that flirts with your face…imagine such a marvelous thing and you will quickly begin to understand the awe this stunning place inspires.  This is perhaps one of the very many beguiling experiences White Sands National Monument imparts on whosoever is fortunate to visit.

Located in New Mexico, the natural wonder covers over 270 square miles of desert creating the worlds’ largest gypsum dune-field and it supports countless plant and animal wildlife. A cherished trip, visiting this gleaming white wonder will surely enliven your inner explorer…and to truly absorb and capture the subtleties of the sparkle and ripples of the sand hike deep into the dunes and you will also discover breathtaking trackless vistas.

As I am convinced we are all flaneurs at heart, of urban landscapes and natural wonders, I promise it is impossible to resist the charms of this place. Succumbing to the splendor of this sandy marvel was captured on camera in the last two images. :)

With love and safe tidings,

Pree

Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013

Oscar understands women. Simple. The  impressive Spring 2013 collection was quintessentially Oscar; feminine and sweet with incredible detail work.  Here are some of our favorite looks, including of course the dreamy pink and turquoise confections. Erika Bearman, de la Renta’s public relations chief, tweeted that the models’ neon-streaked beehive hairdos were very “breakfast @ tiffanys meets daphne guinness.”

Corbusier

Le Corbusier (1887-1965) Le Corbusier, born Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris in Switzerland, was an erudite and well travelled architect, writer, designer, urbanist and painter who also had quite a penchant for ancient history and studied Greek temples profusely. Eric Cahan: Color, Light & Sky

Bridgehampton-NY-Sunset-7-48pm-Plate-1

When I first came to learn about Eric Cahan’s art work, I was quite stunned and, really, in awe of the depth of his work. Since Mark Rothko is a huge inspiration personally and for Pree Brulée (our FB page and blog regularly mentions the artist), I was not even the least bit surprised that Cahan [...]

The Bibliophile, a Romantic

“We have a treasure house — a treasure — of literature, going back to the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans. It is all there, this wealth of literature, to be discovered again and again by whoever is lucky enough to come on it. Suppose it did not exist. How impoverished, how empty we would be.” – [...]
